AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic teams up with FOX Sports and the Prostate Cancer Foundation for the 9th Annual National College Football Day

ARLINGTON, TEXAS – The holiday season is upon us. It kicks off with National College Football Day (NCFD) this , an event created by the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic to honor the birth of college football. This year’s holiday takes on added significance thanks to a partnership with FOX Sports and their designated charity, the Prostate Cancer Foundation.

FOX Sports will promote NCFD during their national and regional college football broadcasts on Saturday, including the doubleheader of TCU at No. 21 West Virginia and No. 4 Oregon at No. 17 USC. Through NCFD, FOX Sports will increase awareness and raise funds for the Prostate Cancer Foundation.

In addition to FOX Sports, the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA), the Athletic Equipment Managers Association (AEMA) and members of the College Sports Information Directors Association of America (CoSIDA) have teamed up to help support National College Football Day.

"FOX Sports is a tremendous addition to our list of great partners," said Rick Baker, President of the Cotton Bowl Athletic Association. "We will be able to take National College Football Day to new levels while helping bring awareness to a great cause. We have a lot to celebrate this Saturday."

NCFD, observed each year on the first Saturday of November, was created by the AT&T Cotton Bowl nine years ago as a way to pay tribute to a significant moment in our nation’s history. On Nov. 6, 1869, Rutgers defeated Princeton, 6-4. More importantly, those college athletes left a lasting legacy that would evolve into the great spectacle of football.

To honor college football’s 143rd birthday, the Cotton Bowl has distributed close to 4,000 commemorative lapel pins to coaches, athletic directors, university presidents, sports publicists, game officials, equipment managers and media throughout the United States in hopes that everyone will wear their pin on NCFD. All FOX Sports talent will be wearing the pins as well on Saturday.

Through FOX Sports’ charitable initiative, FOX Sports Supports, the network has partnered with the Prostate Cancer Foundation this college football season to raise awareness and spur donations to help in the fight against an illness that affects one in six American men. On Saturday, fans tuning into the FOX broadcasts will be encouraged to donate $10 to the Prostate Cancer Foundation by texting "CURE" to 80888. Donations can also be made online at .
