MISSOURI EXPERIENCES COTTON BOWL STADIUMDALLAS – The No. 7 Missouri Tigers conducted their pre-game walk-through this morning at Cotton Bowl Stadium, their first and only time to set foot on the field before tomorrow’s 72nd AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic.
In conjunction with the 30-minute walk-through, the Tigers had their team photo taken around the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic logo at midfield.
Mizzou’s second AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic appearance has been highlighted all week by the homecoming of junior quarterback Chase Daniel, a high school legend from nearby Southlake Carroll High School. During his senior season, Daniel led Southlake Carroll to a perfect 16-0 record, the Class 5A state championship and a No. 1 national ranking by several publications. He quarterbacked Southlake to a 15-1 record and a state runner-up showing as a junior. As a sophomore, Daniel played wide receiver on another state championship squad at Southlake.
Following the walk-through, Mizzou coaches and players attended the annual AT&T Big Play Luncheon at the Hyatt Regency Dallas. Members of the Tigers’ 1946 Cotton Bowl team were honored at the event.
The University of Missouri marching band, Marching Mizzou, participated in the New Year’s Eve Parade in downtown Dallas during the afternoon and also performed at the Tigers’ pep rally at the Hilton Anatole Hotel, the team’s headquarters this week.
For its New Year’s Day matchup against Arkansas, Mizzou will be the visiting team and will wear white jerseys.
Kickoff for the 72nd AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic is slated for 10:40 a.m. CST on FOX Sports. Pat Summerall will handle the play-by-play duties for the second straight year with former Dallas Cowboy Brian Baldinger providing the analysis. Jeanne Zelasko and Krista Voda will be reporting from the sidelines.
For the 16th consecutive year, Westwood One will be providing the national radio broadcast. The “Voice of the Dallas Cowboys” Brad Sham will be on the call with Terry Bowden serving as the color analyst.
